Who was Veysel?

Our olive oil company is deeply rooted in the legacy of my grandfather, Veysel, whose passion and dedication laid the foundation for what we are today. Despite the hardships he faced, including the tragic consequence of overworking himself on the farms, Veysel's dream of producing the finest olive oil has lived on. Though I was very young when he passed away, his spirit and relentless commitment to quality have been a guiding force for our family. Every bottle of our olive oil is a tribute to Veysel's hard work and vision, honouring the legacy he began and sustaining his dream for future generations.

My grandfather Veysel and my family come from Kirazli Koy, a small, picturesque farming village in the mountains of Turkey. It is here that our family legacy of cultivating olive trees with passion and traditional techniques began, passed down through generations. The deep-rooted heritage and dedication to quality that originated in Kirazli Koy continue to guide and inspire the premium olive oil we produce today.

What makes Veysel Oil so special?

At Veysel Oil, we proudly use Memecik olives sourced exclusively from the PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) region of Aydin, Turkey. This region is renowned for its unique climate and soil, creating the perfect environment for cultivating these exceptional olives. The Memecik variety, with its robust flavor and rich aroma, produces a rare and distinctive olive oil that captures the essence of the Aydin terroir. Our dedication to maintaining this tradition ensures that every bottle of Veysel Oil offers a truly unique taste experience, honoring the heritage and quality of this remarkable region.

What makes our olive oil so special is our unwavering commitment to organic, chemical-free production and the use of ancestral methods passed down through generations. From the moment our olives are harvested to the final bottling process, every step is done with the utmost care and respect for tradition.

 

Process of making the oil

We ensure the production of the finest oil through a meticulous process that begins in the mountain fields. Our skilled farmers hand-pick each olive at peak ripeness, ensuring the highest quality. These olives are quickly transported to our cutting-edge factory, preserving their freshness and flavour. 

Once at the facility, the olives are meticulously cleaned and sorted. We then employ traditional cold press techniques using fabric presses, which gently extract the oil without heat or chemicals. This method maintains the natural flavours, nutrients, and aromas of the olives, resulting in a premium olive oil renowned for its exceptional taste and purity.

At Veysel Oil, sustainability and reverence for the ancestral land are deeply ingrained in everything we do. We uphold a steadfast commitment to organic farming practices, ensuring that our olive cultivation not only produces premium oil but also nurtures the environment. 

Monoculture is actively avoided as we believe in fostering biodiversity within our groves, enriching the soil and creating a resilient ecosystem. By intercropping with native plants and employing crop rotation, we naturally replenish nutrients in the soil while minimizing the risk of pests and diseases. Our dedication to organic fertilizers and natural pest control methods further underscores our eco-conscious approach. 

Each olive is nurtured under the Mediterranean sun, free from synthetic chemicals and pesticides, resulting in a pure, untainted harvest. Through these traditional and organic practices, we not only preserve the integrity of our ancestral land but also craft olive oil that embodies the essence of sustainability and authenticity. It's a labour of love that ensures the land remains vibrant and productive for generations to come.
